Little Island, The Frying Pan, The Beast, Afro-Peruvian Jazz

August 13, 2021

1. We went to "Little Island" which is a man-made island near the entrance to the High Line that has performances and activities. We did the watercolor activity, which was a hoot because neither Mike nor I can paint. It was fun.

2. We ate lunch out at "The Frying Pan" which is a restaurant out on a dock made from an old railroad barge

3. We took a thrilling ride on "The Beast." It's a speedboat that seats over a hundred people. It's a half-hour fast-paced ride down the Hudson to Lady Liberty and back. There was a heatwave yesterday, so we were happy to get totally soaked.

4. We returned home to change, then headed to Grundy Pier in Jersey City to hear live Latin Jazz. I love love Latin Jazz. This particular band was Afro-Peruvian jazz. They were unbelievably good.

5. We then walked home and dropped, from the full day and the heat.
