Fleet Week 2019

What We Did

In 2019, Fleet Week started on a Wednesday, which was 5/22/19, with the parade of ships in the morning. It starts around 7:30. There were only six ships. We saw the destroyer ship out our apartment window. Then we got our showers and took the ferry from Paulus Hook to BPT, and walked the perimeter of Manhattan, ending up at South Street Seaport.

Then we watched the brass band at South Street Seaport at 12:30. They started 15 minutes late, but it was terrific. Then we had a mid afternoon lunch at Barbalu which was fabulous. That's the restaurant with the skylight.

Thursday is when all the tours seem to start. This year Mike didn't have the day off for tours.

Fleet Week seems to run from Wednesday to the following Monday
